Scaling Challenges to System-Level Opportunities

Mark Rodder, Samsung

Mark Rodder received his Ph.D from MIT in 1987. He joined Texas Instruments where he contributed to device design/integration for many CMOS generations. He is now Senior VP at Samsung Semiconductor, Inc., heading the Advanced Logic Lab in Austin, TX. He has 100 granted patents and is an IEEE Fellow.

Challenges for the semiconductor industry are to deliver technology at low cost, small area, low power, and high performance, with value to the customer. This talk will discuss some of the technology scaling challenges as well as opportunities in the areas of material, structure, DTCO, and system to address these challenges.
